Chamonix, France - Starting Point of the Tour du Mont Blanc Hike

The most enchanting place on earth (and the popular starting point for the TMB Hike)

Arriving at the airport in Geneva, Switzerland, I took the appropriately named "ChamVan" shuttle into the majestic mountain resort town of Chamonix, France, and gazed in awe at the nearly touchable glaciers cloaked all around me.

I spent three magical days here before I embarked on my solo circumvention around Mont Blanc. I rode the local bus (which is free in the Chamonix Valley), ate the local food, recharged at the 5 star spa (QC Terme), had a selfie stick photo shoot on the top of the Aguille du Midi at twelve thousand feet high and knew my way around the town like a local.

The day I showed up in Cham (popularly nick-named), the famous UTMB finish line colonised around the Statue of de Saussure in the city centre making my entry into France that much more exciting.

If you have time, make sure you get the two day gondola pass that allows you to travel on the Brevant gondola as well as the Aguille du Midi for two very different, very incredible perspectives of Mont Blanc.

***More to come. Check back soon when I've had time to write more about this majestic place.
